‘’ At the end of the day, families are what matter. Understanding that and understanding that I wanted to bring happiness to the world, that's the happiness you bring, it's families. That's one of the most exciting things about what I do. People who have been struggling for years have come in and when they leave pregnant with that baby they're just so grateful and it's just a tremendous feeling. ’’

Our History

More than a decade of dedication to families.

The Center for Reproductive Health opened its doors in 1998 by Dr. Edwin Robins as the first Reproductive Endocrinologist in Spokane. The Center opened in conjunction with Northwest OB/GYN, a firmly established and well-known medical practice comprised of obstetricians and gynecologists devoted to women’s health care. Though a division of Northwest OB/GYN, the Center operated as an individual entity, offering specialized services in the relatively new area known as reproductive endocrinology. The Center has developed a large following from both word of mouth and physician relationships. The 10-year live birth pregnancy rate has remained one of the highest in the state, and Dr. Robins and his team often travel to Montana and Tri-Cities to see patients and spend invaluable time with physicians.

A Brief ART History

Since the In Vitro conception of Louise Brown in 1978, ART has progressed exponentially. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) was initially pioneered, as in the case of Louise’s mother, to help women with structural anomalies achieve pregnancy. Some of these anomalies may include blocked, damaged or absence of fallopian tubes. Today’s technologies now allow us to aid couples with many different reproductive issues including male factor, diminished ovarian reserve and unexplained issues and even cancer. Some of the newer technologies began to develop in the 1990’s and include Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (CSI). ICSI allows us to circumvent sperm quality issues and has been used as a method of treating clinical male infertility since 1993. Of newer and just as exciting advances in ART, oocyte (egg) Vitrification and preimplantation genetic diagnosis have more recently followed, completely widening our ability to provide independent patient care.
